St Blaize Model flyers is an SAMAA chartered club located in Aalwyndal, Mossel Bay, South Africa. It is zoned by the local authorities as a model flying airfield.
Our club is open to the community and to all types of flyers. Our goal is to provide an exceptional model flying experience with safety as a primary focus. Spectators are always welcomed at St Blaize, so please stop by and watch one of our many events. The flying field consists of a large open area with no obstructions.
A gated entrance protects it. It includes a tarred runway with "pits" area and "pilot's" area as well as plenty grass landing area. The cross runway is also lawn. The clubhouse is probably the most beautifull and well equipped in the country, where many a "fly-in" have been hosted in the past years; the venue is always popular with the members and public as the spirit of the club reflects hospitality only to be found in the Southern Cape.
There are sheltered canopies and viewing areas, designated flight stations and a frequency control board. In addition, the grass area around runway is always well maintained.
Are you new to the hobby? Well, flight instruction is available to new flyers or those getting back into the hobby, and it is always free. There are plenty of helpful flyers at St Blaize making it an all-around great club to get started!!! Our members are friendly and helpful, but most of all, they are enthusiastic and passionate about the hobby. Members fly a range of different aircraft and helicopters.
